PROTOTYPE TEST TO ESTABLISH INBUILT SAFETY |
In order to Substantiate inbuilt safety, features of our design against accidental over pressurization, a prototype test was witnessed by a surveyor from Lioyd's Register Industrial Services (Indian) Pvt. Ltd. & Controller of Explosives, Baroda. Pro-type tests includes Drop test, Buldge test & Burst test.

| DROP TEST |
The Container was lifte to a hight of 6.0 Mtr. at 45 in the pressurised condition (at 30.0 kg./cm2) and dropped from this ht. on Horizontal IRS Rail to hit the -T- weld joint on Rail. |
| Observation : |
| There is dent on -T- Joint but no leakage observed. |
| |
| DROP TEST |
The same Container was again lifted to a hight of 6.0 Mtr. at horizontally plain and dropped on cross IRS Rail to hit Long seam on IRS bed at two places. |
| |
Observation |
Two dents on long weld seam of size 250 x 250 x 14 mm depth. |
DP test on dented portion of weld and parent metal found satisfactory. |
Half wave DC Type Magnetic Particle test for checking of inner crackers on dented portion was carried out - There is no cracks. |
| |
| Buldge Test |
The pressure was increased in increments of app. 10 kg./ Cm2, beyond the hydro test pressure, and the container was visually inspected. No plastic deformation was observed till the pressure of around 70 kg./Cm2 was reached, after which visual examination was continued. The pressure was further increased gradually. At a pressure around 115 kg./Cm2, one of the dished out, dropping the pressure to around 20 Kg./Cm2. |
| |
| Burst Test |
The container was continued to be pressurised after Buldge Test and the same again starte Buldging gradually in an increasing manner uniformly, while the pressure remain constant. i.e. 30 kg./cm2. Thereafter, pressure started increasing. Ultimatelly the pressure reached upto 55 kg./cm2, BURST occured due to the Mechanical Failure in HAZ (Heat Affected zone) and water sprayed out (Fig. 5) and Pressure dropped gradually to zero. |
